German-Japanese pilot project submitted for the 24th call
Japan joined CORNET as new partner country in order to realise international Collective Research projects for the benefits of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The first project with Japanese participation has been submitted recently.
CORNET´s new Japanese partner agency is the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Together with NEDO, the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF) – the respective CORNET funding agency in Germany – has been encouraging a German-Japanese pilot project with regard to the 24th CORNET Call for Proposals which closed on 27 September 2017.
The project which is now being evaluated by international experts is dealing with innovative combustion process improvements and exhaust emissions reduction in the automotive sector. Driving force behind this pilot project is the German Research Association for Combustion Engines (FVV), a member association of the AiF, and its partner organisation in Japan, the Research Association for Automotive Internal Combustion Engines (AICE), which in case of approval will be taking the lead as project coordinators. In April 2018, applicants will be informed about the evaluation results.
Next call opens in December
The next CORNET Call for Proposals opens on 6 December 2017 and closes on 28 March 2018. Further information about the participating countries and budgets as well as the latest application forms will be provided in due time on the CORNET website.
