Soon, on 7 June 2018, CORNET and its partner network IraSME are organising their next international Partnering Event in Berlin facilitating the search for project partners and complementary knowhow from different countries and regions. Nowadays, huge amounts of root waste streams are produced and are mainly applied as animal feed. However, it contains valuable compounds for the production of plastics. This project idea targets at valorising the outer peel of roots to high value-added products such as anti-oxidants for food additives and dicarboxylic acids as building block of polymers. The 25th Call for Proposals closed on 28 March 2018. The number of proposals submitted by applicants from various countries and regions in and outside the EU has remained stable. Project proposals were also submitted in cooperation with Québec in Canada and Switzerland.
